Several traditional media and news organizations have been seriously affected in their operations by the rise of digital media. Not only digital has affected the economics of traditional media, but also has greatly affected the content and the delivery system of information. It has led to the birth of democratic movement emphasizing on honesty, transparency as well as giving voice to the voiceless, journalism key factors. This has greatly affected the user through increased freedom of expression. Digital media also has been shown to have the broadest niche on gratification opportunities niche, making it to provide satisfaction to users with numerous needs as compared to any other traditional media. Economics Unlike traditional media which are owned by multinational corporations, digital media is owned by individuals. The current dominance of digital media of traditional media has greatly affected the economic base of traditional or conventional media channels such as newspapers. Revenues for the traditional media has greatly declined leading to personnel cut back in a bid to survive the turbulent economic times. The reduced revenues have been attributed greatly to reduction in ad revenue and reduced subscriptions. Culture Digital media content ha s come under great criticism over a period of time as to a large extent, it is not authentic. Victoria Gilbert (2002) argue that most of the digital media content is based on rumors. They argue that, most of the digital media outlets carry out personal opinions which to some extent are not supported by any kind of evidence. This has been attributed to the fact that, majority of these media outlets are not run by professionals but rather by entrepreneurs. Also it has become very had to control the sources of news or information. Unlike the traditional media who to some extent are guided by laws and run by professionals, it is becoming harder each day to control digital or new media publishers by the day to the large numbers. For instance, it will prove impossible trying to control information passed through a digital media such as Facebook with over a billion users. On the other hand, content of most of the new media is in the raw format and may contain some harmful information and sometimes, very graphic photos.Delivery of digital media is very dynamic. Freedom of expression Traditional media has for a long time been accused of being less interested in freedom of expression. This is due to the fact that if they publish any material that is seen as undermine the authority, regardless how true it is, and they stand to lose their operation licenses. The Dangers of Bombs Essay Today more and more kids believe that bombs are fun to experiment with, but do not realize the dangers associated with even the simplest bombs. Although curiosity can be a great characteristic to have, curiosity when it comes to bombs should simply not be tolerated because all bombs produce an uncontrolled reaction leading to destruction that could harm to, or even kill someone. Even bombs in a controlled experiment by experts can be quite dangerous. Take into account the fact that many died during experiments with the atom bomb. Although the experts said it would be fine to watch and be in a close vicinity to the blast, they didnt know about the radiation caused by the reaction. This caused numerous deaths. Although most kids wont be experimenting with atom bombs, many dangers are associated with smaller types of bombs such as pipe bombs. Pipe bombs are especially lethal because they produce lots of shrapnel. Shrapnel is debris given off by the explosion (metal pieces of the pipe, or maybe even nails, glass, or bolts) that can cause lots of harm due to its velocity. Many kids believe that they are experts, and that nothing will ever happen to them, but it defiantly can. Many incidents have occured of kids being hurt or killed by their own bomb. One case is that of a kid building a pipe bomb in my area. He stuffed a lot of gunpowder into a pipe with nails an d he started to screw the cap of the metal pipe on. The grinding of the metal caused sparks and ignited the bomb, and he lost his hand and will not ever be able to have children. All this happened because of a simple bad decision that he will have to remember for the rest of his life. Terroristic acts have plagued the entire world for centuries. These primitive acts of violence have an everlasting effect on communities thoughout the world. What may seem as icolated acts of hatred among cirtain groups can effect many generations down the line. To this day if one were to bring up Oklahoma City one of the first things that comes to mind is the horrifying terror felt by the people thoughout the Federal building on that mild April day in 1995; not to mention the family members greif and the shock that was felt througout the nation. This isnt the only major bombing in my lifetime. One remembered vividly by the nation is the bombing of the World Trade Center. The devestation in this incidi dent was caused by a simple fetilizer bomb. Taking this time to do this essay has helped me realize how dangerous bombs really can be. Meeting with the Delaware Fire Marshall changed the way I make my decisions. Looking back on my descision with the dry ice bomb, I found that I should have thought of the concequences before I acted. When Reverend Hale discovers of the dancing in the forest, Abigail is under direct attack from him, which she tries to find her way out of. Tituba is brought back into the scene and used as a scapegoat for the other girls who were in the forest that night, but first Abigail tries to wake Betty and get her to admit what actually happened. Abigails doings brought so much pain and even led to death of many. While John is in jail to hang, Abigail makes an attempt to persuade John into running away with her. Abigail has stolen Reverend Parris money and she tells Proctor that they can catch the next boat and run far away. Proctor is not interested. Abigail runs away by herself as she knows people will find put eventually that she was a fraud. Her theft and subsequent flight are serious implications towards Danforth as he believed her thought on how God was speaking through her. However this is not universal, and still in most situations the white collar criminals will be let off with a much milder sentence. There are a number of reasons for this.An important reason for this is that these criminals are well adjusted in society, and are not by nature criminals. These crimes are not a crim e of passion, and these people are mentally stable. Since they are not hardened criminals, there is justification in giving them much lighter sentences.
